Poker Squares

Twenty-five cards, ten hands, one grid

Solo, in a pool3 min a roundCardPuzzle

Cards come off the deck one at a time and you choose which square each one goes in. When the grid is full, all five rows and all five columns are scored as poker hands.

How to play

Goal. Build the best poker hands you can in a five-by-five grid.

  • Tap a square to place the current card. Once placed, a card cannot be moved.
  • When all twenty-five squares are full, each row and each column is scored as a five-card poker hand — so every card counts twice.
  • Aces count high or low for a straight, but never both at once.

Each line scores

  • Royal flush 100 · Straight flush 75 · Four of a kind 50
  • Full house 25 · Flush 20 · Straight 15
  • Three of a kind 10 · Two pair 5 · One pair 2

A flush is worth more than a straight here, because in a grid it is the easier one to aim for. The score beside each line shows what it is currently worth. Fill the grid early and every second left adds 2 points. The round lasts three minutes.

How a pool is decided

  • Choose a stake — E5, E10 or E20 — and press Play. Your stake is taken then, and you play straight away. The game is played on our servers: they hold the deal and count your score, and your device shows you the game and sends your moves.
  • The clock keeps running if you leave. A run you leave part-way ends when its time is up, with the score you had. You can come back to it while it is still running.
  • Your score goes into a pool the moment your run ends: the oldest pool for that game and stake that still has room and that you are not already in — or a new one. You see the pool as soon as your score is in it.
  • Everyone in a pool plays the identical deal, so the only difference between scores is how each person played it. You are never given a deal you have played before.
  • A pool pays the moment it has 5 scores, from 5 different players. The highest score is first and receives 50% of the pot, second 30% and third 10%; the platform keeps 10%. If two scores are equal, whoever finished first ranks higher.
  • A pool that does not have its 5 scores 6 hours after its first is cancelled, and every stake in it comes back in full.
  • If our side lets you down — the game never opens on your device, or our server restarts in the middle of your run — your stake comes back in full.
  • Where a game pays for time left on the clock, it pays only when you finish the game — never when you get stuck, bust or run out of moves.
  • Practice is free, up to 10 times a day in each game: your own board, with nothing staked and nothing ranked.
  • Winnings land in your Crazy8s wallet, and you can move them to your mobile money whenever you want.
